This is a specific, clearly defined, decisive and measurable activity/action (Figure 2-13), accomplished by a Ranger or organization, that contributes to the accomplishment of encompassing missions or other requirements. 2-9. Purpose is the Why? of the mission statement and often follows the words “in order to.” It is the most important component of the mission statement (Figure 2-14). 2-10. OPERATION.
