Worldwide, the number of new registra- tions went up to 79.7 million vehicles. However, market dynam- ics varied across regions. In China, growth in the automobile sec- tor was primarily driven by local providers in the entry-level seg- ment. Italy also recorded a significant increase of 12.7% year on year. The US market grew by 0.8% compared to the previous year. The Chinese motorcycle market saw a significant contraction (–10.6%). In Brazil, motorcycle registrations were up sharply, with year-on-year increase of 12.7%.
